Where Science Becomes Strategy
The active ingredients in Energy Essentials—Paraxanthine and Alpinia galanga extract—form a powerful synergy between a fast-acting barin stimulant and a stress-adaptive botanical. Together, they promote alertness, mental focus, and a calm, balanced energy response, helping the body stay energized while adapting to stress.
This foundation is complemented by Rhodiola rosea, a renowned Nordic adaptogen used for centuries to combat fatigue and enhance resilience. Rhodiola supports stress regulation while encouraging increased cellular energy metabolism by optimizing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production—the primary energy currency of every cell. The result is improved physical stamina, mental performance, and sustained energy.
What’s Inside — And Why It Matters
Paraxanthine (enfinity™)
Paraxanthine (enfinity™) is the primary active stimulant in Energy Essentials and represents the next evolution of clean energy. As the primary metabolite of caffeine, Paraxanthine delivers the alertness and motivation people want—yet without the jittery side effects often associated with traditional caffeine sources. Think of paraxanthine as providing the positive effects of caffeine without having the negative effects. For example, paraxanthine is a vasodilator (ie, promotes healthy blood flow) which is a good thing, while caffeine is a vasoconstrictor (ie, restricts blood flow).
In Energy Essentials, Paraxanthine is paired with Alpinia galanga extract, an adaptogenic botanical that helps the body respond more effectively to stress, and not just any Alpinia galanga extract, but the exact one that was shown to be the most potent and having the most clinical data demonstrating its health and brain promoting effects. Together, this natural psychostimulant–adaptogen combination supports heightened focus, smooth energy, and stress resilience—helping you feel energized, clear-headed, and in control.
This core formula is further supported by Rhodiola rosea, a well-studied Nordic adaptogen traditionally used to combat fatigue. Rhodiola enhances stress regulation while encouraging efficient cellular energy metabolism by optimizing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production—the primary energy currency of every cell. The result is improved physical stamina, mental performance, and sustained energy output.
Clinical Studies & Scientific Evidence on Paraxanthine
Paraxanthine (enfinity™) is supported by robust randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials demonstrating superior performance when compared to not only the placebo, which was expected, but also found to be even superior to caffeine.
Clinical findings show that Paraxanthine delivers:
- A greater and longer-lasting psychostimulant effect than caffeine—providing sustained “get-up-and-go” energy for up to 6 hours [1]
- Significant improvements in cognitive function compared to placebo and caffeine [2–4], including:Cognitive performanceShort-term memoryWorking memorySustained attentionReasoning abilityCognitive flexibility
- Reduced mental fatigue, supporting longer periods of focus and productivity
Importantly, studies confirm that Paraxanthine is safe and well-tolerated and is not associated with the many adverse side-effects of caffeine [2–4]. In fact, even when it was consumed alongside caffeine, it was shown to reduce both the frequency and severity of common caffeine-related side effects, including anxiety [4–5]. In addition, paraxanthine helps stimulate dopamine, which is the human body’s ‘feel good’ neurotransmitter. while caffeine has little effect. And if that all wasn’t enough, there is data showing that paraxanthine can also increase BDNF, which stands for brain derived neurotrophic factor, which is the brain’s primary stimulator of keeping the brain cells (neurons) healthy and even restoring BDNF levels in old animals to that of young animals. [Jager et al, 2024) This same study also found that paraxanthine restored glutathione levels in older animals to that of the young animals.
Lastly, paraxanthine appears to work for everyone and not just those ‘fast metabolizers’ of caffeine that have the genetics to convert caffeine into paraxanthine much faster than those who are ‘slow metabolizers’ of caffeine, which is no small matter since less than 50% of the population are fast metabolizers, which leaves more than 50% of us not having as positive of an experience when ingesting caffeine as our ‘fast metabolizing’ counterparts.

Alpinia galanga extract (EnXtra)
EnXtra™ is a patented extract of Alpinia galanga—commonly known as Thai ginger—traditionally used for centuries to support mental performance and energy metabolism. In Energy Essentials, EnXtra plays a key role in delivering sustained focus and alertness without overstimulation.
Clinically studied EnXtra supports:
- Dopamine pathway activity, promoting motivation and mental clarity
- Increased adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production, the body’s primary cellular energy currency
- Enhanced focus and alertness by supporting healthy brain function—without jitters or crashes
Clinical Studies & Scientific Evidence on EnXtra®
Beyond its long history of traditional use, EnXtra® is a standardized extract which means its composition is consistent lot after lot, and in turn provides consistent results which have been validated in six well-controlled clinical trials, with each clinical using the exact 300 mg dose found in each daily serving of Energy Essentials. These studies confirmed both safety and efficacy in healthy men and women, including those who regularly consume
caffeine.
Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trials Demonstrated:
- Significant increase in alertness, which was found in every one of the six clinical trials using 300mg EnXtra.
- One study found that more than doubled in alertness and for up to 5 hours after ingesting just one dose of 300mg EnXtra even in those who regularly consumed caffeine [1]. Interestingly, in this same study 120mg of caffeine had little to no effect on increasing alertness.
- In another clinical trial, 300mg EnXtra was shown to consistently increase
alertness 26-28% over the entire 5-hour period which is how long the study lasted, while 200mg caffeine increase alertness only 19% and only at 1hr, but when EnXtra was combined with the caffeine, it produced sustained alertness for the entire 5 hours. [2] - Importantly, this significant increase in alertness was maintained even after ingesting 300mg EnXtra daily for 12 weeks , with an almost doubling in alertness after the 1st dose, and more than doubling alertness on the last day of the 12-week study, demonstrating consistent results when taken daily [4] Significantly improved cognition as evident by a 36% reduction in error rates and within just one hour of ingesting just one 300mg dose of EnXtra while also maintaining this improved performance throughout the 5 hour test period, in contrast to the 200mg caffeine which resulted in a decrease in performance at 5 hour. [3] Another human study also found a significant improvement in cognitive performance as evident by not only a decrease in error rates, but also an increase in correct responses. Significantly increased calmness, even when given with caffeine, supporting an increase in focused energy without overstimulation. [4]
Cross-Over Clinical Trials (Post-Lunch) Showed:
- Faster reaction time [5,6]
- Reduced daytime sleepiness [5,6]
- Improvements across all five energy markers: energy level, vigor, alertness, fatigue, and sleepiness [6], even increasing energy at the end of the day [5]
- Enhanced performance across nine (out of 12) cognitive measures, including faster reaction time, increase in both attention and correct responses, while also reducing errors. [6]

Rhodiola Rosea Extract
Rhodiola rosea, also known as Arctic root or Golden root, is a revered adaptogenic herb with centuries of traditional use across Nordic and Arctic regions. Historically used to combat fatigue and enhance endurance, Rhodiola helps the body adapt to physical and mental stress while supporting sustained energy and performance.
In Energy Essentials, Rhodiola rosea supports:
- Stress resilience and cortisol regulation, helping the body respond more effectively to daily stressors
- Improved mental and physical performance, particularly under conditions of fatigue or strain
- Enhanced cellular energy production by supporting adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis—the primary energy currency of every cell
The result is balanced, long-lasting energy that supports both mental clarity and physical endurance.
Scientific Evidence & Regulatory Recognition for Rhodiola rosea
While Rhodiola rosea is not positioned as a single-ingredient clinical stimulant, its benefits are supported by extensive traditional use and a substantial body of scientific research.
In 2011, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) published an herbal monograph approving the traditional use of Rhodiola rosea as an adaptogen for the temporary relief of stress-related symptoms, including fatigue, exhaustion, and general weakness. This recognition was based on its long-standing use in traditional medicine alongside numerous scientific studies [1].
Additionally, a comprehensive review evaluating over 70 human clinical trials examined the effects of Rhodiola rosea across various conditions and study designs. Despite variability in methodology, the review found consistent evidence that Rhodiola rosea may:
- Reduce physical and stress-related fatigue
- Support mood balance, including symptoms of anxiety and low mood
- Improve physical–mental work capacity and endurance under stress [2]
